What the integration actually does
According to DMP’s announcement, the integration brings Digital Watchdog’s DW Spectrum IPVMS into the Virtual Keypad app. Dealers enable it by selecting Digital Watchdog from the list of video options in Dealer Admin or the Tech APP, and the site can run either the DW Spectrum server or DW Cloud. - Can you integrate video with a DMP panel that is already installed?
- Usually yes. If the panel is a current DMP platform on Virtual Keypad, adding DW Spectrum is largely configuration plus whatever camera and network work the site needs. We verify the panel model, firmware, and account setup before quoting.
- Does the video integration replace alarm monitoring?
- No. Video in Virtual Keypad is a user convenience for viewing cameras and playback. Alarm signaling and response still run through the monitoring account — for us, dual-path reporting into our UL-Listed central station.
