For owners, managers & facility teams

A reporting platform.
A real service team.

The Compliance Engine, powered by BRYCER, helps participating Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) track fire and life-safety inspection reports, inspection due dates, and reported deficiencies. Fireside supplies the field service and documentation that support that process.

Our integration is a service and reporting workflow: identify the correct property, inspect the system, deliver the required records, and follow through on corrective work. It is not a claim of BRYCER endorsement or a proprietary software connection.

A submitted report is not the same as a repaired system or AHJ acceptance. Property owners remain responsible for required inspections, maintenance, and responding to notices. We help make those next steps actionable.

From notice to follow-through

How Fireside helps keep your fire system on track

  1. 01

    Confirm the property & requirements

We review your notice, premises address, system records, and the local fire authority's reporting process. Inspection frequency, deadlines, templates, and fees are confirmed for your building—not assumed from another city's rules.

  2. 02

Inspect & test the fire alarm

Fireside performs the contracted inspection and testing, documenting equipment, results, and deficiencies. Scope and frequency follow the applicable NFPA 72 requirements, adopted California codes, and local authority requirements.

  3. 03

    Submit the inspection record

For participating jurisdictions, we coordinate the required TCE report submission against the correct premises and system. Depending on the authority's setup, this may include an attached inspection PDF or entry into its report template.

  4. 04

    Repair, retest & document corrections

We explain fire alarm deficiencies, quote the corrective work, and perform authorized repairs. Where required, retesting and correction documentation support the follow-up reporting process. Submission, review, and acceptance are separate steps.

Have an impaired fire alarm or an urgent fire-department order? Call (888) 810-2336. Portal paperwork does not replace required impairment notifications, fire watch, or other protective measures directed by your AHJ. For an active emergency, call 911.

The Compliance Engine: common questions

What is The Compliance Engine?

The Compliance Engine (TCE), powered by BRYCER, is an online platform used by participating fire authorities to track fire and life-safety inspection reports, due dates, and reported deficiencies. It connects the reporting work of service contractors with the local fire authority's compliance review.

How does Fireside Security work with The Compliance Engine?

Fireside Security integrates TCE reporting into its fire alarm service workflow for properties in participating jurisdictions: confirming the premises and reporting requirements, completing inspection and testing, submitting the required report, and documenting follow-up work on deficiencies. The reporting process depends on the local authority and the agreed service scope.

Does uploading a report make my building compliant?

No. A report submission documents the inspection results; it does not repair a system or guarantee approval. Deficiencies still need to be addressed, correction records or retesting may be required, and the local fire authority determines acceptance and enforcement.

What should I do if I receive a TCE overdue or deficiency notice?

Send Fireside the notice, property address, latest inspection report, and any listed deadline. We can review the fire alarm items, identify needed testing or repairs, and help coordinate the reporting response. Do not ignore an impairment or postpone required protective measures while waiting for paperwork.

Does every California fire department use TCE?

No. Use of TCE, accepted report formats, filing deadlines, and fees vary by jurisdiction. Fireside confirms your local fire authority's reporting process before planning a submission; some authorities use a different portal or direct delivery.

Is The Compliance Engine the same as alarm monitoring?

No. TCE manages inspection and compliance records. Central-station monitoring receives alarm, supervisory, and trouble signals from a connected fire alarm system. Fireside can help with both services, but a TCE report does not replace monitoring, maintenance, or emergency response.

Can Fireside handle all systems listed in my TCE notice?

We review the notice against our contracted fire alarm and related life-safety scope. TCE can also track sprinkler, fire pump, hood suppression, backflow, elevator, and other systems. Those items may need a separate appropriately qualified contractor; we do not assume every listed system is included in a fire alarm service agreement.

Are TCE report filing fees included in the inspection price?

Confirm the proposal before scheduling. Platform filing fees, inspections, repairs, retesting, and follow-up reports can be separate charges depending on the jurisdiction and project scope. Fireside can clarify the included reporting work and any additional fees in your quote.
