24/7 UL Listed Fire Alarm Monitoring

Fire alarm monitoring is the 24/7 supervised link between your fire alarm panel and a UL-Listed central station that dispatches the fire department when a device activates. NFPA 72 and most California fire codes require commercial fire alarm systems to be centrally monitored — a local sounder alone does not satisfy the code. Insurance carriers also typically require UL-Listed monitoring for premium credit.

When a detector or waterflow switch trips, the fire alarm panel's communicator transmits a supervised digital signal — over LTE cellular, IP, or both — to our UL central station. A licensed operator receives the signal, verifies the account, and dispatches the local fire department. The whole path from device activation to fire-department dispatch typically completes in under two minutes.

UL Listed means the central station has been independently audited by Underwriters Laboratories to standard UL 827 — covering physical security, redundant power, backup facilities, staffing, and signal handling. Fireside operates under UL listing UUFX S36457. Most AHJs and insurance carriers only accept alarm signals from a UL-Listed facility.

Yes — takeover accounts are the majority of our monitoring onboardings. Most existing commercial fire alarm panels (Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Honeywell, Edwards/EST, Simplex, Gamewell-FCI, Potter) can be adopted without replacing the panel. We simply install a supervised LTE or dual-path communicator and re-point the account to our central station.

LTE cellular (DMP CellCom, Telguard, AES), IP, and dual-path (LTE + IP) communicators. Dual-path is required for high-rise, healthcare, and many jurisdictions under the 2022 CA Fire Code. Supervision intervals — 5-minute, 60-minute, or 6-hour — are configured to your occupancy and AHJ requirement.

For most California commercial buildings, monitoring runs $35–$85 per month depending on communication path, supervision interval, and how many auxiliary signals (waterflow, tamper, elevator, generator) are reported. Multi-site portfolios receive volume pricing. Migration from a POTS line typically pays for itself in 12–18 months once the phone bill is retired.

Yes. Every account gets a monthly signal history, annual test summary, and on-demand event exports through our client portal. These reports satisfy NFPA 72 record-keeping, Joint Commission life-safety chapters, and most commercial-property insurance audits.

Ask four things: is the central station UL 827 listed (ours is, UUFX S36457); what is the measured average alarm handling time (ours is under 60 seconds); is the signal path supervised dual-path LTE + IP rather than a legacy phone dialer; and will the company coordinate directly with your local AHJ on test notifications and record-keeping. A low monthly rate on a single-path account often fails the second or third question.

Yes. Accounts are built against the responding jurisdiction, so LAFD-area buildings dispatch to Los Angeles Fire Department and capital-region buildings dispatch to Sacramento Fire Department or Metro Fire of Sacramento depending on address. We file the test notification with that agency before annual NFPA 72 testing so a test signal is not handled as a live alarm, and we keep the signal history the inspector asks for at re-inspection.
